Janet Kabiru is a highly accomplished corporate lawyer, governance professional and senior banking executive with more than 27 years’ experience advising multinational companies and leading complex legal, regulatory and governance portfolios across Africa. She is currently Head of Legal at Stanbic Bank Kenya and serves on the Stanbic Kenya Group Leadership Council as well as the Standard Bank Group Africa Regions Legal Leadership Committee.

Before joining Stanbic, Janet held senior regional legal and tax leadership roles at British American Tobacco and previously practised as a partner and director at leading law firms and advisory firms in Kenya and Ghana. A Rhodes Scholar, she holds degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of Reading and is qualified in Kenya and Ghana. Janet has served the Rhodes community for two decades and has been a Trustee of The Mandela Rhodes Foundation since 2017.
