Elizabeth Mwangi
Kenya & University of Cape Town, 2023 I'm passionate about cultivating a just world for its people and the planet. My previous experiences have included driving impactful initiatives at the intersection of gender equality, climate justice, and community empowerment across Eastern and Southern Africa. In these roles, I've led cross-regional programs, including facilitating peer-learning networks for women climate leaders, natural resource governance practitioners and conservationists. I most recently completed an MPhil specialising in Environmental Humanities at the University of Cape Town's Environmental Humanities South research unit. My research, situated in Samburu County, Kenya, explored adaptive responses to drought among agro-pastoral communities living in Kenya's arid and semi-arid lands.
